Parasound - Zpre2 Audio/Video Preamplifier

Parasound's upgraded Zpre2 version of its hugely popular Zpre isn't just a tweak, it's a genuine breakthrough. Despite its small size, and despite its low cost, the Zpre is quite simply one of the best Parasound preamplifiers ever made. And that's saying a lot, considering Parasound's reputation for first class audiophile components. The Zpre2 redesign adds even more capability to this compact preamplifier. Zpre2 occupies only half the horizontal space of standard stereo components. But it delivers full-scale audio performance. Use it in small bedroom or office hi-fi systems or even for MP3 playback. A priority input feature makes the Parasound ideal for multi-room or multi-zone systems, too. The Zpre2's upgrades over the original Zpre facilitate multi-room operation. The improvements start with a two-way RS-232 connection for feedback of key functions. A new auto turn-on by 12-volt trigger locks out the front panel power button, keeping the on-off status in sequence with your other components during IR control. Revised circuitry and layout deliver better overall performance, and an improved auto select priority switching for Input 1 enhances operation and adds a colored status indicator. A 115-volt-230-volt selector switch on the chassis bottom had been added, too. The Zpre2's high-current power supply and low noise circuit deliver ultra-clean audio signals to your amplifier. Full remote control with a high-quality motorized volume control add to the convenience of the Zpre2's compact 'tuck-in' size. And, of course, it's the perfect partner to Parasound's matching Zamp compact amplifier. Four audio inputs and four-source video switching give the Parasound plenty of hook-up flexibility. A priority input connection can be programmed to automatically override other audio video inputs for use in a multi-room or multi-zone system.
